Dr. Brook Mayberry Dr. Mayberry is a graduate of Mississippi State University
and a second-generation equine veterinarian. His interests include equine sports medicine and lameness, Advanced Dentistry and equine chiropractic. Dr. Mayberry
also holds a Ph.D. in human performance and physiology.
He and his wife Diane enjoy cycling and watching their daughters Baye and Layla play soccer and basketball.

Dr. Stephen Hance Dr. Stephen Hance is a graduate of Kansas State with strong Oklahoma connections. His family's farm, located in
western Oklahoma is a strong draw for Dr. Hance's return to this area.
Dr. Hance completed his residency and board certification at Ohio State. He first
practiced in Lexington, Kentucky. He spent six years in a very large veterinarian facility working with a predominately thoroughbred clientele.
Dr Hance has developed a consultation practice with a large veterinary practice in
Australia and a thoroughbred sales company in New Zealand. He is reviewing repository x-rays on sales horses consigned to thoroughbred sales "down under"
such as the Magic Million and others.
Dr. Hance is boarded in surgery and experienced in performance horse lameness.
He has directed his focus to these disciplines at EMA.
He enjoys hiking and leatherwork.

Kent D. Haury, D.V.M. Dr. Kent Haury, a native of Halstead Kansas, received his B.S. degree in Agriculture
from Kansas State University. He began his career as a herdsman for a large polled
Hereford operation, before serving in the U. S. Army. Dr. Haury then went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Kansas State University
College of Veterinary Medicine. He also completed an internship at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
He has developed a special interest in advanced equine dentistry techniques and has implemented the
use of pneumatic dental equipment as a means of improving equine dental health.
Dr. Haury, co-founder of EMA, was honored as the 1997 Oklahoma Equine Practitioner of the Year. He is a practitioner who values his clients as true friends and
is very active in local, state, and national business and professional organizations.
Dr. Haury enjoys restoring his antique Farmal tractor and lives in Halstead with his wife, Myrla.
J. Mike Johnston, D.V.M., Dr. Mike Johnston, managi ng partner and co-founder of EMA, is a graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Johnston has a keen interest in equine reproduction and cryopreservation of equine semen.
In 1992, he pioneered the use of nuclear scintigraphy in Oklahoma and has continued to improve his skills with this relatively new diagnostic tool. Dr. Johnston is
also well known in Central Oklahoma for his knowledge of and proficiency in camelid (llama, alpaca, and camels) medicine.
Dr. Johnston has recently taken on an additional role as Lecturer in Equine
Reproduction classes at Southern Nazarene University in their Equine Production Program.
Honored by the Oklahoma Veterinary Medical Association as Equine Practitioner of
the year in 1999, Dr. Johnston is an active member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners. He has served on numerous state and national veterinary
advisory boards and committees.
Introducing our newest Intern, Dr. Michelle Lett. Dr. Lett is a native of St. Marys, KS, a small town in the northeast region of the state.
Dr. Lett grew up around the farming community where her family has raised wheat and soybeans for the last three generations. She is a graduate of Kansas State
University and hopes to return to Kansas to work in an equine veterinary practice. Prior to obtaining her DVM degree, she received a Master's degree in biology with a
research focus on woody plant encroachment in the tallgrass prairie.
Michelle still enjoys playing softball and basketball, continuing her athletic endeavors
from her college days. Her dedication and compassion makes her a true asset to EMA.
