Nuclear Scintigraphy
|
|

|
Many times the source of lameness is not easily identified by conventional methods.
Nuclear scintigraphy allows us to scan the horse's entire body including the back, hips and
pelvis without placing the horse under general anesthesia.
The nuclear scan information is then used to direct more intense diagnostics in a problem area.

Ultrasonography
Ultrasonography uses sound waves bounced off of tissues to produce an image of
structures below the skin. This is particularly useful on diagnosing tendon and ligament injuries. Ultrasonography is offered both as an
in-house and field diagnostic service.

Radiography
EMA is
capable of producing quality radiographs of the head, neck, chest, shoulder, and stifle, in addition to the distal limbs.
EMA is also fully equipped for field radiology, for the convenience of clients who prefer not to travel to the hospital.

Fluoroscopy
Fluroscopy is a type of x-ray machine which produces x-rays continuously while
activated. A real time image is produced by a computer processor and monitor, giving us the ability to image many different areas very quickly.
|
Video Endoscopy and Gastroscopy
Long flexible fiber optic cameras attached to a computer processor and video screen allow us
to actually see inside a horses' upper airway (endoscopy) and stomach (gastroscopy) in order to diagnose abnormalities such as "roaring" and gastric
ulcers. With this technology we are able to make a diagnosis confidently and institute appropriate therapy sooner.
